Epiphany
In “A Game of Thrones”, Ned realises that the direwolves were sent to protect his children and is afraid because he killed Sansa’s Lady. But later, she is protected by The Hound. A DOG/CANINE IS ALWAYS PROTECTING ONE OF THE STARK CHILDREN. And later when The Hound has Arya hostage, he is protecting her as well. Further supporting my point .
